Fergus will talk about how they use plants at Great Dixter to paint and compose pictures. Fergus will touch on sense of place, shape, texture, contrast, repetition and colour. He will show many colourful pictures of the gardens at Great Dixter as well as some of other gardens.

Fergus Garrett is CEO and Head Gardener of the Great Dixter Charitable Trust. Appointed as head gardener of Great Dixter by renowned gardener and gardening writer Christopher Lloyd, Fergus Garrett continues to keep the garden constantly changing throughout the seasons by experimenting with new plants and plant combinations. He is a hands on gardener. He has been widely recognized and awarded including in 2019 The Victoria Medal of Honour. He joined Great Dixter in 1993 and has been Head Gardener ever since.
