Pia Kuusiniemi studied landscape architecture at Helsinki University of Technology, Department of Architecture (now Aalto University) and graduated in 2003. She has been a regular guest speaker on landscape architecture topics at the University since. Currently Pia is the President of the Finnish Association of Landscape Architects and a member of the Board of The Finnish Association of Landscape Industries. She has worked on numerous public space projects and historical environments in Finland. Her expertise lies in landscape design in built environments, especially in design where the urban environment is reflected with the architecture.
Pia is a founding partner at Loci Landscape Architects Ltd, which was established in Helsinki in 2008. Loci is a designer-owned agency, full of enthusiastic, unique, and active landscape professionals. Loci takes pride in ensuring that landscape values, sustainability and beauty are considered throughout the project from start to finish. The core belief of Loci is that everyone has the right to enjoy nature and the landscape.
