Sponge City projects support near-natural rainwater management and are an important part of the blue-green infrastructure in the densely built-up and multi-functional part of the settlement. We explain the functions and uses of the sponge town in terms of rainwater treatment under paved surfaces. Including sizing and potential catchment issues.
